WELCOME

Dear NACIVT Friends,

We are excited to announce that the 78th NACIVT will be held in Baltimore, Maryland from September 2-4, 2023! Brought to you by the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of Washington, DC (CCBA).

Each year the tournament committee strives to bring the best experience to the players, the spectators, our family and friends as well as our sponsors and local community partners. We take a lot of pride in continuing the legacy and tradition of the NACIVT tournament. As the tournament’s popularity has skyrocketed, we have evolved to provide a competitive first class environment on the court and memorable experiences off the court.

This year, the Baltimore Convention Center – just 40 minutes away from DC – will be our home for one of the largest tournament to date. While we truly believe this tournament is meant to be played outdoors, the sheer scale of it has meant looking for new locations and ways to provide a playsite that can accommodate today’s need. The convention center is located downtown in the center of Baltimore’s famous Inner Harbor just steps away from Camden Yards, home of the Baltimore Orioles, and M&T Bank stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens. Explore more things to do at baltimore.org, including a curated list of Asian-owned restaurants in the city.

As with all of the NACIVTs, our goal is to honor the tournament’s roots. Part of the reason we chose Baltimore is because of the city’s historic Chinatown and its connection with the Greater Washington area 9MAN volleyball community. Baltimore’s revitalization has reenergized the AAPI community and it has influenced everything from new innovative culinary experiences to historic public markets & food halls, modern museums, shopping, music and much more! Our hope is to continue to draw our communities closer together, while bridging the gap between our rich history and exciting future.

One of the new and unique activities that we are excited to introduce this year is the NACIVT Baltimore Night Market Festival! As an engaging update to the traditional Sunday night banquet, we are working in partnership with the creators of Charm City Night Market to bring together dozens of locally-owned AAPI businesses to serve pan-Asian and Mid-Atlantic dishes for a dinner under the stars.

We have many more exciting Labor Day weekend announcements planned for the coming months, so please check our website regularly for more information regarding our stay-and-play policy, tournament hotels, and registration.
